The Creek Chub Bait Company was founded by Henry Dills, a conductor on the B&O up in Garrett, Indiana. This part of Indiana is a hotbed of lure and bait manufacturing. However, the only fishing is underground on the disappearing rivers and the cave lakes. Anglers fish for eyeless catfish in the dark.
Sadly, the B&O does not go through Winesburg. The PRR's famous Broadway Limited roared through Winesburg even after Amtrak took over. It didn't stop. Winesburgians liked to throw stones at it as went through.
