Amtrak's tBroadway Limited picks up passengers before heading west and not stopping at Winesburg. Passengers often carried rocks in their pockets to hurl at Winesburgians who might throw stones from Throw Park at the train.

The Winesburg and Winesburg Railroad (W&W), the shortest of short lines, connects to the Pennsylvania RR and is a mile long. It takes coffins from Fort Wayne to the graveyards around Winesburg. It is a necropolis railroad.

The PRR's famous Broadway Limited roared through Winesburg even after Amtrak took over. It didn't stop. Winesburgians liked to throw stones from Throw Park at it as went through.
