The Floss Factory

Mint fields outside Winesburg, Indiana. Varieties produced included peppermint, spearmint, penny royal, and chocolate mint. The fields were also often used by locals for snipe hunting.

The Floss Factory is closed. At one time it was a major employer in Winesburg. The Floss Festival was an annual event. The production of floss stimulated a Mint Market used in flavoring floss and utilized locally produced beeswax.
